My Top 5 Male Actors

#1. Alex O'Loughlin

Alex easily falls in at my Number One, Numero Uno spot! Hands down! Not only is he handsome, sexy and funny, he is also a very diverse actor. As a lead actor, he has gone from a vampire with morals, to a heart transplant doctor, to a kamikaze-like Navy SEAL with control issues. In between all that, he also gave a seriously creepy performance as an OCD serial killer with a tortured past on Criminal Minds, and I can't not mention his portrayal of Stan in The Back-up Plan, opposite Jennifer Lopez! Fantastic comedic timing.

Other feature credits include: The Invisible, August Rush, The Oyster Farmer

Whether he's catching the bad guys as the stoic but loveable Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett (Hawaii Five-0), or feeding on their blood as the charming vampire PI Mick St. John (Moonlight), or, perhaps, giving them a heart transplant as the charismatic Dr. Andy Yablonski (Three Rivers), we love to watch Alex O'Loughlin in action. His piercing baby blues, his disarming smile! And, seriously, how many of us are absolutely thrilled that his current show, Hawaii Five-0, is filmed in, yup, you guessed it, Hawaii!? Which, as luck would have it, gives the writers an ABUNDANCE of opportunities to have Steve McGarrett take off his shirt! Add to all that, his Australian accent off-screen and... WOW! Just. Wow!!

#2. Paul Walker

I think Paul gets a bad rap. Some people have said that he can't act but I disagree. I've seen almost all of his movies, not to mention some of his work from when he was a kid, and I think he does a really good job. I'm also a big fan of commentaries, a big reason I buy dvd's in the first place, and I've heard a few directors talk about how much they love working with Paul because he is so talented and a hard worker. So, it isn't just me, people! Plus, have you seen the amount of fans on his Twitter and Facebook accounts? We can't all be wrong!

He's hot, of course, I don't think ANYONE will argue that fact. Beautiful eyes and smile, great body. But, more importantly, he's also a philanthropist. And I don't mean the kind who sits at home and sends money to his favourite charities through e-transfer. He goes out and gets his hands dirty, so to speak. He and some friends co-founded a charitable organization called Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW). Through ROWW, Paul and various paramedic and EMT friends, go out to areas hit with tornadoes, or earthquakes, or some other equally horrible natural disaster, and they help the people effected. They get right into the thick of things and provide health care, food, water, whatever is needed.

So, yes, Paul does have talent, which has resulted in a huge fan base, but he also has heart. Those two things combined have been making a huge difference in the world and I, for one, think he should be recognized for that.

#3. Matt Passmore

Now, this guy is a new favourite of mine - he used to also be on MacLeod's Daughters. Matt is one of those guys who starts off as 'cute' and very quickly morphs into 'hot 'n sexy'! He is the star of a fairly new A&E show called The Glades, about a homicide detective who left his hometown of Chicago after an... altercation with his boss, and moved to Palm Glade, a small town in Florida. His intent was to basically relax, enjoy the sun, improve his golf game. Instead, he found that murder and mayhem doesn't only happen in big cities.

I've only seen a few of his interviews but Matt seems to have a very quirky sense of humour. He enjoys tweeting his fans. Again with the eyes and the smile, cuz, yeah, I'm the one writing this and those are two of the features I notice most. *grin* His golf form is to die for and, though he's only taken his shirt off once, so far, boy, was it worth the wait! It was in the first season finale and... yeah... *drool*

Anyway, if you haven't seen this show yet, I HIGHLY recommend it!

#4. Jensen Ackles

*sigh* Jensen. I have been a fan of Jensen's since forever. I first saw him in Days of Our Lives but I am a few years older than he is and back then? Yeah, he was 17, so, it was just plain WRONG for me to look at him as anything other than another pretty face who could act. Thankfully, as I got older, so did he - funny how that happens, eh!? - and it got more and more okay for me to look at him, like, well, you know. The eyes. The lips. The voice. The body!? Then... he got married. So, yeah, back to not feeling right about looking at him like that.

But I have been a fan for too darn long to not include him in this list. Days of Our Lives. Dark Angel (Season 2). Smallville. Supernatural. *double sigh* In all seriousness, the man can act. He's got great comedic timing, seen especially in Dark Angel and Supernatural, and he also seems to be preparing for other roles in the industry, like DOP and Director! Jensen Ackles is definitely a force to be reckoned with!

You'll find his wife, Daneel Ackles (Harris) included in my Top 5 Female Actors - coming soon to a blog near you! *grin*

#5. Jason Dohring

The first time I saw Jason was in the short lived television show Moonlight. I swear, the role of Josef Costan must have been written specifically for him. I can't picture any other actor playing the role better. Conniving and mischievous, yet such a distinct vulnerability underneath it all. Jason played it perfectly. Adorable, sexy bad boy with a heart of gold, albeit a non-beating one, and a wonderfully dry wit thrown in for good measure. Simply amazing!

***Honourable Mention: Eric Christian Olsen

I couldn't make a list like this and not at least mention the wonderful Eric Christian Olsen!

Another newbie for me. Don't get me wrong, he's been in tons of other stuff, just nothing I had seen - Brothers and SistersTru Calling, for example. And, are you ready for this? He played the younger version of Lloyd Christmas on Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd! Who knew? Probably everyone but me. LoL

Anyway, Eric is another one of those guys who is just adorably sexy! And funny! Wow! I love him on NCIS: Los Angeles. Marty Deeks has fast become my favourite character on the show! I don't usually go for guys with long hair. He and Alex O'Loughlin (when he was on Moonlight) were the guys who changed all that. So, in closing, Eric is hot, sexy and funny. Great combination, if you ask me!
